I’m thankful for pretty much everything.  That may seem weird, or stupid, or precocious,  or arrogant, but it is the truth.  I wish I had arrived at that point much earlier in my life, but, if I had, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today.

Thankfulness takes a leap of faith.  True thankfulness requires being appreciative of what we have right now, at this moment with no expectation that we will have it in the next moment.  Tomorrow is just that:  tomorrow.  We can’t really be thankful for something that we don’t have yet.  We could be thankful that we are in a position to possibly have something and that’s great, but expecting it and then not receiving it sets us up for anger and hate.  “But, I was entitled to it!”  There is no place for entitlement or future expectations in thankfulness.  What we have in this instant could ALL be gone in the next instant.

So, here’s to hoping that we all are truly thankful in every instant for what you have and have had.
