Caroline has been coming and staying on the boat with us since we got it.  At least once a week she comes and spends the night with us.

This past Saturday, we had the opportunity to have Caroline and Carter stay on the boat with us for the whole day.  We have plenty of toys, books, games, and crayons for Caroline as she is over all the time.  We don’t have much for Carter.  In preparation, Jodi purchased a toy race car for him.  Didn’t matter much, as he found numerous other things with which to play.

It never fails, little kids will always find something of their own making to play with.  Carter LOVES to play with the dogs’ food bowls.  And heaven forbid we leave the water bowl down.  Why do people spend SO much money on toys and trinkets?  I don’t get it.

Caroline came over with a Disney Frozen fishing pole.  She’s been asking to go fishing for the longest time.  Luckily, this pole had a little plastic fish that could be tied to the line so no hooks were involved.  That was a good thing because she was casting this thing all over the boat.  I got poked in the eye once and I think Jodi was hit by the fish a couple of times.  And I can’t even begin to count the number of times that the line got wrapped and twisted around the end of the pole.  Fishing is exhausting.

At the end of the day, Caroline was calling me to come take a look at the sun going down and take pictures.  I hope she keeps her youthful exuberance about all things nature.  She loves to watch sunsets and see the moon.  “The sun goes down and the moon comes up.”

It was a great end to a wonderful day.  Sometimes pictures don’t tell the whole story, but in this case, they do.  There were no tantrums, fights, or meltdowns.  It was a day full of smiles, laughter, and fun.
